Principal’s Vision

Welcome to D.S. Parrott Middle School—home of the Leopards! My name is Dr. Chris Clifford, and I am honored to serve as the principal of this incredible school community. Education has been both my career and my calling, shaped by years of experience as a teacher, coach, and school leader. From my earliest days in the classroom to my current role, one thing has remained constant: my belief that every student has unlimited potential waiting to be unleashed when they are inspired, challenged, and supported.
At Parrott, our vision is simple but powerful: every student grows every day. We are committed to creating a learning environment where students not only master rigorous academics but also develop the leadership, character, and confidence to thrive beyond middle school. Through our Leader in Me initiative, our “Leopards Unleashed” rallying cry, and our focus on student ownership of learning, we are cultivating a school culture where excellence is expected and achieved.
This year, we are building on our momentum. Our teachers are embracing facilitative lesson design, using data to drive instruction, and raising the bar with high-level questioning and formative assessments. Our students are encouraged to take responsibility for their learning through data chats, goal-setting, and celebrating progress along the way. Together, these practices ensure that D.S. Parrott is not only preparing students for success in high school, but also equipping them with skills for life.
Beyond academics, I am deeply passionate about creating a school that feels like family. We celebrate diversity, value strong partnerships with parents, and believe that every student deserves a place where they feel safe, supported, and inspired. Through our athletics, fine arts, STEM opportunities, and student leadership programs, our Leopards are discovering their passions and making their mark.
I invite you, our parents and community partners, to join us on this journey. Your involvement—whether through conversations at home, supporting school events, or simply encouraging your child daily—makes a tremendous difference. Together, we can ensure that every Leopard achieves beyond what they thought possible.
It is a privilege to lead D.S. Parrott Middle School, and I look forward to the great things we will accomplish together.
Go Leopards!
