Testing Information

FAST Testing at Parrott Middle School

The Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) is a statewide progress monitoring system designed to measure student learning and growth throughout the year. FAST testing is given in three parts:

  • PM1 (Progress Monitoring 1): Taken at the beginning of the school year, PM1 provides a starting point that helps teachers understand each student’s strengths and areas of need.

  • PM2 (Progress Monitoring 2): Given in the middle of the year, PM2 shows how much progress students have made and helps teachers adjust instruction to keep everyone on track.

  • PM3 (Progress Monitoring 3): Taken at the end of the year, PM3 measures overall growth and achievement, showing how far each student has come.

These assessments are very important because they allow us to monitor learning over time, provide timely support, and celebrate growth. At D.S. Parrott Middle School, we strive for excellence in everything we do. Our current “B” school rating reflects the hard work of our students, teachers, and families, and we are committed to reaching even higher.
